ABOUT
From the intergalactic fantasies of Planet Her, to the neon haze of the 1980s, our work with Doja Cat is always pushing boundaries. For her fifth studio album, Vie, we devised a WebGL-powered wild night out that enticed fans from the boudoir to the dance floor.
Fans' data formed the basis for a virtual guestlist. Doja superfans were able to bypass the fierce bouncers and enter Club Vie before anyone else, giving those good girls and boys early access to exclusive track previews. Using WebGL, we allowed fans to control the track previews by spinning the disco ball, adding a deliciously tactile element. We built the dance floor, dancers, disco ball, and smoke effect separately to replicate the entrancing, hectic atmosphere of a real club. Hidden among the clickable easter eggs is a message from Doja herself, but you’ll have to find that for yourself… au revoir.

Getting ready
In the lead up to the main event, we designed and built a 3D holding scene to fuel excitement. The room was complete with a glowing vanity mirror where fans could scrawl messages in sultry strokes of cherry-red lipstick; creating a daring digital confessional.
Objects in the room teased themes from the album to ramp up anticipation, such as a Sony Walkman from which a muted track snippet could be heard playing. By accessing this first phase of the experience, visitors were guaranteed entry to Clue Vie, which we teased with an invite laying on the dressing table.
