ABOUT
Since 2006, almost half of London's LGBT+ venues have disappeared. We wanted to celebrate those lost and help those left.
So we made Take me to the Club, a digital place where you can take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about some of London's most loved queer spaces. The site contains memories and photos of venues like Madame Jojo's, The Black Cap, Trade and many more.
While tweaking people's nostalgia muscle, our site reminds them of what they have to lose. Photos of the offices and chain restaurants which stand where these LGBT+ venues once stood make for melancholy viewing. At this point, we invite visitors to donate to help London's remaining venues. They're encouraged to donate the cost of a big gay night out, like £8 for an espresso martini or £1 for a packet of gum.
