Emoji Typer

Semi Permanent is an annual event showcasing the latest talent and trends across the tech and creative industry. So the piece had to also reflect this combination of technology and design. The emoji typeface acted as the core visual elements of the event during and in-between speakers, so it had to work as a tool for communication as well as be visually intriguing.

The keyboard was controlled by a person on stage, allowing them to type words live in front of the audience. This added a comical persona to the event titles, and allowed involvement of the audience.
